You could take a little trip around Singapore town,
In a Singapore city bus
To see Coller Quay and Raffles Place,
The Esplanade and all of us
(Chorus)
Because in Singapore, Singapore
Their hearts are big and wide you find
Because in Singapore, Singapore
You'll find happiness, for everyone
(End of chorus)
Let's go down to the eastern side,
Where Ali and Siti live
They sing a song of old Geylang,
They say it goes like this
Geylang Sipaku Geylang
Geylang si rama rama
pulang, Marilah pulang, marilah pulang, bersama sama
Mari pulang, Marilah pulang, marilah pulang, bersama sama
*Chorus*
Now let's go to Serangoon,
Where Velu and Rani once stayed
Now they live in Ang Mo Kio
And they bring their music to you:
Munnaeru vaalibaa munaeri endrum
Thoduvvan nokkuvai (x2)
Munnaeru vaalibaa munaeri endrum
Thoduvvan nokkuvai
Kann theriyaatha kaari rulil
Olirum vinmenae
(music) (when it is not indian music anymore)
*Chorus*
In Chinatown near Market Street
Where Ah di and Ah huay once lived
They played games and sang a song
That tells us of yesterday
连环书,叮当糖,看街戏,扮新娘
跳飞机,打水仗,东奔西跑捉迷藏
因为在新加坡,新加坡,我们从小长大在一起
因为在新加坡,新加坡,我们共同欢唱一曲。
*Chorus*
(end of song)
I cannot find my song sheet but I sort of memorised it already so please check if it is right. And I don't know that indian one
-Claudia
The "happinnes" is spelled wrongly it should be "happiness". And the "Now let's go down to chinatown" is "In Chinatown near Market Street" There are a few more, but i will just edit from what you wrote.Do edit if there is more!
~Charmaine
I have already typed it out on Microsoft Word so I can print it out easily. You can always check your song sheet and edit accordingly right?
~Claudia
I just found it ...well, my mum did
~Claudia
I just highlighted parts of a word or a word which, when you hear them played, will either need to go to the side of the stage or gather back in the middle of the stage.
~Ryan
This is the Singapore Song which I asked for from bai lao shi at the end of the class.
~Ryan
That is lame! Really, Charmaine should have called you the crazy one.
~Ryan
She already said that we have gone nuts...
~Claudia
Well, she said "especially Ryan". Not fair! :)
~Ryan
Well, Justin doesn't know anything about the junk in here...
~Claudia
Yeah. He doesn't check as often as us. In Frequent Checkers, we are first place, then Qiwen 2nd place, then Charmaine
3rd place and next comes the guy with the letter "J' as the first letter of his name.
~Ryan
lol. You mean he is last...he doesn't check at all...in fact the last time he checked was when we had the meeting, and I typed in for him. And the last time he checked by himself was when he bought the scrapbook (wasn't that looooooong ago?)
~Claudia
How dare u say that!!! >:[ (although i know it's true)
~Justin
Actually it doen't really matter, cause now there's hardly anything important about the trip that we need to discuss.
~Ryan
Yeah. That's why it's all junk.
~Claudia
Not junk, interesting, very interesting stuff.
~Ryan
How much did you spend during the trip? I spent about $350 Yuan, which is about $70 Singapore Money.
~Ryan
I didn't spend alot. Let me see...(All in Yuan, except when I specify)
First day, I spent 50 on that photo, 48 on the 健康球, and 80 on the cup that changes colour.
The next time I spent money was on Saturday, when I went to 古文化街, spent 10 on a chain thingy for my brother. The rest of the stuff that I bought, my buddy's parents bought it.
They were: A pair of 泥人届 for my grandparents that wishes for longevity that costs 12, a fan that costs...I don't know, for my aunt, another 泥人届 for my father that costs 18, 4 bookmarks for me, that are 剪纸, and costs 16, 2 trains that cost 10 each, one for my maid, and one for my brother and I. That's all, I think. Minus that fan, cos I don't know how much that costs, I spent 344 Yuan altogether. And I received a few gifts, example another 泥人届, that wishes for alot of money, a fish, a folder with a diary and a booklet about the school from the school (given on the last day of school) and another chain thingy, with a 中国结 and a 泥人届 given to me by my class (that's what the teacher said) and a pee-pee boy that comes together with the cup. Of course, the 4 bookmarks were also as a gift for me from my host family. Maybe the fan costed something like 16, probably more, so it will probably add up to what you spent.
